Understanding the Severity of Self Harm & Suicide

This week took us through the tough conversations around suicide and self-harm. Consider these questions for our time of discussion.

1. How comfortable or uncomfortable are you, discussing the topic of self-harm and suicide specifically in church?

2. Have you viewed mental illness as a broken relationship with Jesus? How does Elijah’s story encourage you or prompt you to view mental illness differently?

3. “I love you. I’m here with you. Your life has meaning and value and purpose.” Steve Ingold and Amy Sargent repeated this phrase a couple of times in the message. What does this phrase mean to you personally?

4. Considering God used Judas’ suicide to help others, can you allow God to forgive you for things society may deem unforgivable?
